Whew chile.
I’ve been gone for a minute but I’m back with the jump off.
And damn, has it really jumped off.
This ish crazy.
It ain’t easy. It’s scary. It’s humbling af.
But when the way gets rough and murky, I find it useful to go back to the beginning. To remember your why. To recall what you set out to do in the first place.
A lot of people started the new year talking saying this was to be a year of supreme focus, unwavering persistence, 20/20 vision.
And here we are about a quarter of the way through and we’re already getting a chance to prove it.
It’s easy to say you’re going to look straight ahead when there’s nothing going on around you.
The real challenge is to stay focused when the distractions come. Can you still hold true to your purpose, your passion?
Sure, the way we get there might get switched up, and we might have to take a longer or more difficult route. But do you still remember where you’re going? The promises you made yourself?
Better yet, do you remember the promises that God has made you?
That He would never leave you nor forsake you?
That His promises are “Yea” and “Amen”?
That He knows the plans that He has for you?
Plans to give you hope and a future so that you may have an expected end.
I don’t know about y’all, but this ain’t the end that I’m expecting. I know that dreams, many times, are God’s way of showing you how your story is supposed to end. And Corona Leshae ain’t in my dreams so I know this ratchet heifer is not the end.
This too shall pass.
So no matter what your situation looks like right now, and I promise I’m praying for you and your families, please hang on. Please push through. Please don’t lose sight of your vision.
As the elders would say, please believe the report of the Lord.
Oh. And keep your ass home.
I love us for real.
